Commitment and Availability

How much time do I need to commit?

Application Process:
We ask volunteers to commit to attending an online interview at the start of February and an in-person training day on either Saturday 29 March or Sunday 30 March 2025 at our circuit.

Event Delivery:
To ensure effective organisation of our major events, preference will be given to applicants who offer a minimum engagement of volunteering during the British Grand Prix MotoGP (23-25 May 2025) and the Formula 1 British Grand Prix (3-6 July 2025).
Race Makers will not be required to volunteer every day during these two events, but we ask for the below minimum engagement:
British Grand Prix MotoGP (23-25 May 2025):
Saturday 24 May and Sunday 25 May 2025 – Two shifts in total during the event
Formula 1 British Grand Prix (3-6 July 2025)
Either Thursday 3 July or Friday 4 July 2025, plus Saturday 5 July and Sunday 6 2025 - Three shifts in total during the event

Please note that we may not be able to offer the opportunity to all our Race Makers to volunteer during the British Grand Prix MotoGP due to less roles and shifts being available, in comparison to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. Roles and shifts may be offered on a first-come, first-served basis for the British Grand Prix MotoGP, but we will communicate the arrangement upon successful application.

Can I choose my shifts or working hours?
Volunteers will have the opportunity to select their preferred shifts prior to our events. However, while preferences will be considered, shift allocation will depend on the event’s operational needs.

Can I volunteer for other events in the future?
Upon successful application to the Race Maker volunteer programme, you’ll be able to sign-up to support with additional events at Silverstone Circuit. Events are usually allocated on a first-come, first- served basis.

Benefits and Support

Will I receive training for my role?
Yes, all volunteers undergo specific training to ensure they are well-prepared. The initial training session will take place in-person at Silverstone Circuit at the end of March.

Is accommodation or transportation provided?
Volunteers must be able to travel at your own expense to Silverstone for training and live event days. We can’t cover the cost of accommodation, however, volunteers can use our complementary volunteer campsite, if booked in advance. The campsite may be offered on a first-come, first-served basis depending on the specific event.

What are the benefits of volunteering?
As a Race Maker, you’ll have the chance to join our vibrant social community, connect with new people, gain valuable experience, access comprehensive training, participate in high-profile events, and enjoy many other exciting benefits.
